Q. Currently my need for housing is extremely high; does VNHS offer emergency housing?
A. VNHS is unable to provide emergency housing due to our current waitlist. The Tenant Selection Committee adhere to the VNHS policy and procedures for placing applicants onto our waitlist and the selection of tenants from our waitlist. Q. Can I call VNHS to inquire about the status of my application?
A. Yes. Applicants will be informed of their status on our waitlist as being Active or Inactive.
Q. Can I complete an update over the phone?
A. No. All updates MUST be completed in writing and submitted into VNHS by fax, mail or in person.
Q. How often should I update my application?
A. To ensure that your application remains active on our waitlist, you MUST complete an Applicant Update Form once every six months or immediately when your residence or contact information has changed.
Q. Will I be contacted before my application is removed from the waitlist?
A. No. Any applicant who has not provided an Applicant Update Form for twelve months will be removed from our waitlist.
Q. If I am removed from your waitlist, what happens to my application once I have updated my information?
A. If you have not submitted an Applicant Update Form within twelve months you must reapply.
Q. Do we prioritize applications?
A. Yes. your application is placed on the waitlist according to application date and you must live in the Vancouver and Lower Mainland area.
Q. Can I apply even if I was a previous tenant?
A. Yes, but all applicants must follow the same application process.
Q. Can I apply even if I live outside of Vancouver ?
A. Yes, but priority will be given to those applicants residing in the Lower Mainland area of Vancouver .
Q. Can I provide reference letters or letter of support for my application?
A. Yes, applicants may provide letters of support or reference at any time, but must submit this information by fax, mail, or in person. |
